My own personal G8GT is suffering from the same issue, at the very least I hope to save at least a few people from owning a few thousand dollar paperweight.ACL Race Series engine bearings provide the dependability it takes to hold up under higher RPM conditions. With the right cam and heads and a properly tuned PCM, the ZL-402 is fully capable of producing over 575 hp and a similar amount. Im looking for 440-450rwhp with a cam install, hopefully this fall. Dubbed the 'ZL-402' to reflect its beastly 402-cubic-inch displacement, the package is chockablock with such race-proven hardware as a new GM LQ9 block, a 4.00' forged steel crank, and 4.00' forged aluminum pistons. Not sure what size the G5X1 cam is though. LPE offers packages for 2009-1997 Corvette C6 ZO6, C6 LS3, C6 LS2, C5 LS6, LS1, Cadillac CTS-V, Chevrolet SSR, Pontiac GTO, 1992-1996 Corvette LT1, LT4, LS1 & LT1 Chevrolet Camaro, Impala SS, Pontiac Firebird, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Denali, Sierra & H2 Hummer & Dodge Viper. Looks like LG Motorsport used a G5X1 cam, long-tubes, stock heads and FAST intake on an LS2 C6 and made 450.8rwhp/441.1rwtq SAE. Perfecting the art of performance for over 30 years.

So rely on ACLs Race Series bearings to perform to the exacting race standards you expect. You would be very surprised as to how bad a cam bearing can look at still be in great functional order. I spoke to Chevrolet directly and my local rep about this issue and they told me to pound sand and werent even aware of the tsb in the service department, but GM knows clearly by the tsb issuance itself.ġ2-14 psi of hot oil pressure is not ok, the engine with a normal working system should have the same psi as every other ls engine since 1997' only maxed at 55-75 because of the afm psi relief in the oilpan.

The vvt only equipped vehicles will throw a p0011 code because the oil pressure leaks past the bearing and doesnt hold to the vvt solenoid ,this Imho also includes a low vlom oil pressure issue on dod/afm cars that in my opinion directly relates to afm lifter failure.

Many people have fixed it by doing an afm/vvt delete or gm throwing parts at it thinking the afm/vvt itself was to blame but in the deletion case all your doing is adding material to the journal so the new normal style cam journal surface rides on the unworn section of bearing, the only real fix is R&R of the cam bearings at the least. All Gen III and early Gen IV bearings measure. Other than the displacement (5.7L / 347.5ci), the aforementioned rod bearings and physical dimensions with previous generation LT1 small block, the LS1 was a new all-aluminum single-cam pushrod engine with a bore and stroke of 99 mm × 92 mm (3.898 in × 3.622 in) making this GM’s first all-aluminum production V8.
